the best voicemails of 2007

2007 was the first full year of send me a voicemail. i decided it would be a good idea to make a list of the best voicemails of the year. i went through and listened to all of the voicemails that received a rating of 4.5 stars or more. i know, they don't get a lot of ratings... but maybe this will encourage people to rate more for next year? probably not, but oh well...

i chose my five favorites of the ones that got four ratings or more, and my three favorites of the ones that got less than that, but still 4.5 stars or more.

not surprisingly, most of the "winners" are messages from those that are or were regular callers, who made a name for themselves. (except for the cactus people...they didn't really make names for their individual selves, but they did as a collective whole...which i call the cactus people.) it's these people that i learn to recognize and grow to like. i really appreciate their support and i'm glad to have been able to get a glimpse into their lives... as well as the lives of all of the callers... it really is interesting sometimes.

that said, here are the chosen voicemails...

• he really did put his heart into it. (or so it sounds, anyway.)


• i'll cactus this cactus on my cactus because it cactused and was so cactus... or something. (did i just say that?)


• dr. weird in all his weirdness. i would have just said "like a pizza pocket," by the way.


• the red font is so alluring.


• i did like the phrase, "crazy winter storm stystem thingy."
